TRUST & TRANSPARENCY
Cookies & Browser Storage
Effective date: 2 November 2026
What the website stores
The website uses browser storage for site functions and consent choices. Google Analytics 4 is enabled only on eligible public pages of the production domain after acceptance, and can then set first-party analytics cookies. Preview and demo/dashboard routes do not load the tag. Fonts are self-hosted and no advertising tags are included. It uses localStorage and sessionStorage for the functions below. Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. On 2 November 2026, ordinary page responses set no hosting cookies. After analytics acceptance, the first-party cookies observed were _ga and _ga_C7LMHV42DM, with expiry 180 days later. Security challenges, if introduced, can require additional storage; we will assess and update this notice when enabling new purposes.
| Key / storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| idxguard-consent-v1 localStorage | Remembers your analytics choice or browser-wide opt-out, when it was recorded, its source, expiry, and consent notice version. | Choice valid for 180 days; then you are asked again. An expired record may remain in storage until replaced or cleared. |
| idxguard-motion localStorage | Remembers your selected motion preference. | Until cleared or changed; no automatic expiry. |
| idxguard-demo-session-v1 sessionStorage | Remembers the fictional board or provider workspace selected at demo login. This is not real authentication. | Session accepted for up to 8 hours; removed on sign-out or when the tab session ends. Expired values may remain in an open tab until replaced or cleared. |
| idxguard-shared-demo-v2 localStorage | Saves sample sites, findings, notes, review activity, and demo changes. Board and provider views share this data in the same browser profile. | Until browser storage is cleared. Demo reset replaces records with sample data; it does not remove the storage key. |
| idxguard-dashboard-demo-v1 localStorage, legacy | Earlier board demo records may be migrated into the shared dataset. | May remain until browser storage is cleared; migration does not delete the old key. |
Optional Google Analytics cookies
Eligible public pages on idxguard.com and www.idxguard.com can load Google Analytics only after your explicit acceptance. Rejecting analytics blocks the Google tag entirely, including cookieless consent pings. Demo login and dashboard routes remain excluded even if you accept. The integration never reads demo records or form entries.
| Cookie | Purpose / provider | Configured duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguish browser visitors for Google Analytics 4. | 180 days from creation, without automatic renewal; browser limits may shorten this. |
| _ga_<container-id> | Maintain session state for the Google Analytics 4 property. | 180 days from creation, without automatic renewal; browser limits may shorten this. |
These lifetimes are configured by the website tag; browser rules may shorten them. The property currently has 2-month event-data retention and 14-month user-data retention with renewal on new user activity. User/event retention controls are different from cookie lifetimes. See our Privacy Policy for provider and international processing information. See Google’s partner-site privacy information.
Your controls
Use the motion control in the marketing-page footer to change animation preferences. The site also respects your operating system's reduced-motion preference. Demo sign-out ends the selected workspace session; it does not delete locally saved demo changes. To delete all saved values, use your browser's site-data controls for this site's origin. Clearing data on the preview domain does not clear data stored on another domain.
Disabling storage can prevent demo login from working and stop changes or preferences from persisting. Files you already downloaded remain on your device until you delete them separately.
Consent and future changes
The banner offers Accept analytics, Reject optional, and Manage preferences. Analytics is off by default. Cookie settings is available in every page footer so you can change or withdraw consent. A choice is valid for 180 days on the current browser profile and origin. When your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we keep optional analytics off and skip the consent banner. Cookie settings remains available to explain the active browser preference. Withdrawing consent disables measurement, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies, and reloads the page if the tag was running. It does not erase information previously sent to Google; contact us about applicable data rights. Functional storage is used for remembering your privacy decision, your selected motion preference, and the demo functions you request. Do not reuse these values for advertising or analytics. Optional analytics remains separate from the storage used to provide functions you request. Any new purposes require updated disclosures and an appropriate new choice.
